C.E.G.A. Foundation is non-profit organization established in 1992 and works to support community development of disadvantaged groups, such like Roma, based on citizen’s participation in finding solution to local problems.
C.E.G.A. supports citizen initiatives and organizations by:
-
Providing consulting assistance, ensuring access to information and helping with fund raising
-
Disseminate information on working democratic practices;
-
Organizing and taking part in coalitions and public campaigns on specific issues.
From 2006 till 2009 C.E.G.A. Foundation implements long-term program “Supporting local and regional development for better social inclusion and emancipation of marginalized communities in Bulgaria” co-funded by Dutch Organization for International Development Cooperation NOVIB and Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
The project activities include trainings, technical assistance, support in fundraising, monitoring of the implementation of the plans for integration of the Roma communities at all levels. It is also focused at developing C.E.G.A. as a resource center for community development.
I'm coordinating "Seed Fund for Developing New Initiatives" program aimed to identify and support the growth of local Roma groups or NGOs through providing technical assistance, trainings, exchanges, developing initiatives, programs and small funds for implementing initiatives aiming to resolve local problems and experience what they’ve learned.
